Ang Libas usa ka native nga kahoy diri sa aton isla. Ang iya kahoy kay dali kaayo sya mabali kay huyang na kaayo. Ang iya dahon sang porma kay opposite kay nag-atbangay. Kag ini nga kahoy kay pamilya siya sang serguelas, kag ang iya liso kay pariha sa serguelas, pero mas dako siya sang liso kay sa serguelas. Ang pagpamuwak sini nga kahoy kay magsugod sa Marso kag ang pagpamunga kay mga Abril–Mayo nga bulan.
The Libas is a native tree found on our island. Its wood is very weak and breaks easily. Its leaves are arranged in an opposite pattern, meaning they grow across from each other. This tree belongs to the same family as the Spanish plum (serguelas), and its seed looks similar but is larger. It starts to flower around March, and bears fruit during April to May.
Uses
Pwede siya e sagol sa pagluto sa inun-unan. Kag pwede lat siya ma lamas sa ito kag luko-luko para ma aslom-aslom.
It can be used as an ingredient in cooking inun-unan (a local sour fish stew). It can also be mashed with salt and seaweed to add a sour flavor.
